The word Shinobi appears in the written record as far back as the late 8th century in poems in the Man'yōshū. It means "to hide" or “to forbear". Superhuman or supernatural powers were often associated with the Shinobi ( better known by westerners as Ninja ). Some legends include flight, invisibility, shape shifting, the ability to "split" into multiple bodies, the summoning of animals, and control over the five classical elements. These fabulous notions have stemmed from popular imagination regarding the ninja's mysterious status, as well as romantic ideas found in later Japanese art of the Edo period.
A very light 350gsm pearl weave top is coupled with lightweight special double diamond reinforced 8oz rip stop pants - The double diamond fabric is also used to reinforce the jacket’s collar, making it both sturdy and very smooth while in contact with your skin. When we say these are the most comfortable and durable tops & bottoms you'll ever own, we really mean it. The weight of this Gi is ideal for competition.
The internal GI jacket is sublimated with our unique shinobi artwork, while a beautiful screen print of a ninja in action adorns the inside of the jacket in soft plastisol ink. The ink will eventually being to fade, giving in time the a vintage feel.
Various high definition patches, embroideries and prints decorate the outer part of the jacket and pants. Discover also a unique Haiku by Taka Kyoshi on the inside of the jacket.
We have also included an high quality Gi bag, fully sublimated with Half Sumo's unique detailed hand drawings. This bag is fully machine washable so you can just throw it in the wash along with the GI, and have a fresh clean bag after every roll! The unique zip pocket on the front, allows for your valuables to be stored without mixing with sweaty gear etc. This bag is bag with thicker Cordura Nylon, and it's not your run of the mill GI bag.For this kids edition the pants feature an elastic waist band and an internal drawstring.
IMPORTANT - The GI fits a bit on the tight side - if in between sizes we recommend choosing one size larger. Please note although the Gis are pre-shrunk, please allow for an additional 3% to 4% natural fabric shrinkage after the first few washes.
SIZING -We recommend the following sizes based on your height/weight
M000 - Approx Age 3 to 4 years old
M00 - Approx Age 4 to 5 years old
M0 - Approx Age 5 to 6 years old
M1 - Approx Age 6 to 7 years old
M2 - Approx Age 7 to 9 years old
M3 - Approx Age 9 to 10 years old
M4 - Approx Age 10 to 11 years old
