1/2 Sumo Collective is an independent design collective and martial art brand forged, found and curated in New York. 1/2 Sumo takes inspiration from the City, fueled by never ending noise, dirty bodegas, hidden record shops and people of every race and belief. To this, 1/2 Sumo adds their passion for Japanese ancient woodblock prints from the EDO period, graffiti art, street art, and above all.. martial arts.
The most important word that identifies HS is budo: the martial way.
Budo is not just related to how much you train or how many pushups you can do;
Budo is the passion that moves you toward constant self-improvement in any aspect of your life. The 1/2 Sumo community is a small tribe of people who truly understand the meaning of martial arts.
