Majestic, Powerful, Regal, Honorable…. the Dragon symbolizes some of the greatest qualities of the human soul. Found often in Japanese art and mythology, their presence reflects a deep connection to the natural world, and more importantly a belief in harmony and balance.

When developing our new Ryu belt we tried to incorporate these concepts in both the design and the construction elements of the belt. 

The unique "Caterpillar" weave gives the belt not only a vintage look, but also, due to it's rope like quality, it keeps it firmly in place once tied.

The rank bar is made of premium silk satin material, woven purposely at different angles to create a smooth, but visible dragon pattern similar to antique scrolls art, symbolizing the everlasting flow of this martial art.

Two unique screen prints, one of the Ryu Kanji, and one of a irezumi style dragon, are printed on the belt. They will fade with time, giving the belt a unique vintage feel. 

An inch was added on both ends of the belt, so that it will look powerful once tied around the waist, and not look flimsy and small like a bow-tie as other brands' belts do after a few months of use.

We made the size label of the belt a tear-away one, so if you prefer a cleaner look, you can easily remove it without damaging the belt etc.

And if all these details weren't enough, we have included not one, but two specially designed Half Sumo elastic velcro ties ( See photos below)  which can be used to keep the belt neatly folded when stored in your bag, but most importantly wrapped around the knot while training, it will keep it tied around your waist even during the hardest and most intense sparring. Worm guard players beware ;)

We recommend the following sizes based on your height/weight:


A0 - 104" inches, will best fit athletes under 5'5", and under 130lbs
A1 - 108" inches, will
best fit athletes 5'5"-5'9" in height, and between 140lbs to 160lbs in weight
A2 - 115" inches, will best fit athletes 5'8"- 6'1" in height, and between 160lbs to 190lbs in weight
A3  - 120" inches, will best fit athletes 6'1"- 6'4" in height, and between 185lbs to 210lbs in weight
A4 - 125” inches, will best fit athletes 6'3"- 6'7" in height and between 200lbs to 250lbs in weight
A5 - 134" inches, will best fit athletes 6'4" - 6'7" in height and between 240lbs - 270lbs in weight

Great Quality

Happy with my purchase. I got the Purple A3. Great fit and the knot holds very well. Only complaint I would have is the pink/tan dragon design towards center of the belt that you don't really see on the site when looking at the photos. I feel that should've been a little more upfront in the photos. I only mention that in case someone else might be more put off by it. But other than that the rest of the designs on both ends of the belt are great. Favorite belt I've owned so far.

STOP ROLLING THJE BELTS

Just received my black belt, and it is absolutely gorgeous! The quality is amazing super lightweight and the attention to detail is really good little problem with the stitching, but I could get over it. What I absolutely cannot stand, though is how it is shipped! I don’t understand why they can’t fold the belt like others. Instead, they roll it with the rank bar at the center. On the black belt, the red rank bar is amazing, but it’s very wrinkled because of how it is rolled and shipped. Had to figure out a way to iron it out, and I was terrified. I was going to ruin the belt. do better with your product! Your craftsmanship is awesome, ship it so that it could be enjoyed in all its glory.

Stitching nothing to write home about.

I don't know.
I expected a lot more of belt for this price.
I was willing to spend for a nice belt that likely is my final belt.
It's poorly stitched. And the patches are all crooked and not level. The belt is self seems sturdy and is probably fine. I'll have to roll with it to see how it holds out.
All in all, I'm not happy.
