Half Sumo had the incredible opportunity to collaborate with Gibson, one of the most legendary guitar brands in rock and metal history.

Since its founding in 1894, Gibson has shaped the sound of generations, crafting iconic instruments played by legends like Jimmy Page, Slash, and Tony Iommi. In this collaboration, we designed three custom 6-string prototype guitars, merging the signature Half Sumo aesthetic with Gibson’s craftsmanship for Matthew Kiichi Heafy of Trivium. These special edition guitars embodied the fusion of martial artistry and metal, a perfect match for Heafy’s powerful stage presence and technical precision.

This project wasn’t just about creating instruments—it was about forging weapons of sound, built for warriors of the stage.
