Competitions are strict. A strict training regimen, a strict diet, even stricter competition rules, and as of June 2024 all new regulations about what GIs are allowed at IBJJF tournaments, and which not.

We can’t help you with which leg positioning is considered reaping, and which one is not, but what we can do is definitely remove all the stress of stepping up to the the GI checker officer, and being DQ for a BS reason like the stitching on the pants is not IBJJF complainant. 

We have therefore hired a nuclear scientist, a NASA former astronaut, and even asked Chat GPT to solve the hardest equation known to men - How to create a competition kimono that meets all the strict IBJJF regulations, and yet still can help you kick ass on the mats?

This is why we have developed the new Yurei Competition GI. A lightweight 380GSM Pearweave top, with tapered, but comfortable construction is matched with 10oz ripstop pants that fit in the range defined by IBJJF regulations. 

As per Federation rules, the weight of the GI is printed on the jacket and the pants to avoid confusions, and delays at the scale. 

Being an Halfsumo kimono though we added a few discreet design details where allowed that enhance the overall look of this BJJ battle armor. 

The large canvas that is the jacket inside yoke allowed us to choose the best BJJ submissions from our popular Submission Art posters, and reproduced them in hi-def inside the kimono. 

May the Irezumi styled submission art guide all the warriors wearing this kimono to the highest steps of the podium! 

We have also included an unique high quality Gi bag, fully sublimated with Half Sumo's unique detailed hand drawings. This bag is fully machine washable so you can just throw it in the wash along with the GI, and have a fresh clean bag after every roll! The shape of the bag makes it a great day backpack either you chose to use it to carry your GI or any other item/gear. 

The GI fits like a modern tapered GI - It is pre-shrunk, but please allow for an additional  4% to 8% natural fabric shrinkage after the first few washes.

We recommend the following sizes based on your height/weight

A0 will best fit athletes under 5'5", and under 130lbs
A1 will
best fit athletes 5'5"-5'9" in height, and between 135lbs to 160lbs in weight
A1L will best fit athletes 5'7"- 5'10" in height, and between
135lbs to 160lbs in weight
A1H will best fit athletes 5'5" - 5'9" in height, and between 160lbs to 190lbs in weight
A2 will best fit athletes 5'8"- 6'1" in height, and between 160lbs to 190lbs in weight
A2L will best fit athletes 5'11" -6'2" in height, and between 160lbs to 190lbs in weight
A2H will best fit athletes 5'8" - 5'9" in height, and between 185lbs - 210 lbs in weight
A3 will best fit athletes 6'1"- 6'4" in height, and between 185lbs to 210lbs in weight
A4 will best fit athletes 6'3"- 6'7" in height and between 200lbs to 250lbs in weight

Due to fraud concerns we will not refund any orders marked as delivered by USPS/UPS/DHL- Please double check the correct spelling of the address when placing the order. We will not be responsible for packages claimed as lost when the tracking shows it was delivered to the address provided. We apologize for the inconvenience.

  • The system will calculate automatically the shipping cost at checkout based on the number of the items and their weight.

    You will have a chance to review your order and the shipping costs before you are asked to finalize your order and your Credit Card is charged.

  • Our staff will process your order within 24 business hrs and hand it over to the most reliable shipping provider for the selected destination ( UPS or USPS )

  • All US domestic orders are generally delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Please note that both carriers will not deliver on Saturday and Sunday.

    International orders, due to distance and custom/import delays generally are in transit for 10 to 15 days from the date of shipping.

    CUSTOMS & DUTY For International Buyers - Please understand that delays due to foreign custom clearance etc. are a possibility, and the buyer is ultimately responsible for all duty and custom charges when applicable. We have noticed at times that the USPS/UPS tracking number does not update once the package is in a foreign country. Customers in the past were able to retrieve their packages from their local post office using the tracking number provided, although the mail service online site had no additional information

    IMPORTANT: For both national and international shipments, the buyer is ultimately responsible with providing a "safe" delivery address. We will not be responsible for items marked as delivered by USPS or UPS, but claimed by the customer to never have been received or stolen by neighbors, dogs or aliens. It is your responsibility as a buyer to track the package and make sure someone is there to receive it, or provide a safe environment where the postman can drop it off.

  • No, due to the real possibility of delays due to holidays, weather or other logistic factors, we cannot ship any orders to hotels or other temporary residences. Make sure someone will be at the location at all times, or the order we'll be canceled before it is processed.
